    Utrum parvuli sint invitis parentibus baptizandi? A quest for the roots of can 868 § 2 CIC [Code of Canon Law]. The present contribution examines the theological and canonistic discussion on whether children are to be baptized contrary to their parents' will.For that the opinions of famous authors of the 12th to the 18th century as well as the relevant decisions of roman dicasteries from the 17th to the 19th century are portrayed.
