En la historia reciente de España, los sindicatos actuantes han demostrado básicamente un claro sentido de la responsabilidad y han contribuido a la paz social y, además, que son elementos indispensables para contrapesar los posibles abusos de los poderes económicos y financieros y para velar por el adecuado reparto de los rendimientos de cada empresa entre quienes contribuyen a hacer realidad sus resultados. Su colaboración en la formación de una sociedad más justa es, pues, indispensable. Sin embargo, teniendo en cuenta la indispensable función que las organizaciones sindicales están llamadas a cumplir, contribuir a su desprestigio no es de recibo. Corresponde, pues, a sus dirigentes fomentar la transparencia de tales organizaciones, dirigirlas con honestidad y fomentar en su estructura y en sus actuaciones concretas las exigencias de la ética cívica.

In the recent history of Spain, active trade unions have basically demonstrated a clear sense of responsibility and have contributed to social peace. They are also essential elements for counterbalancing possible abuse of economic and financial powers and overseeing the proper division of the profits of every business among those who contribute to achieving its results. Their cooperation in the formation of a fairer society is therefore indispensible. However, taking into account the indispensable function which trade union organisations are called on to perform, contributing to detracting from their prestige is unacceptable. It is therefore appropriate for their leaders to promote the transparency of such organisations, running them honestly and promoting the requirements of civic ethics in their structure and specific actions.
