Resumen de Mudanças culturais: uma reflexão sobre a evolução das cirurgias plásticas

To increase the self-esteem and the search for beauty have been some of the motivations that lead people into having plastic surgery. However, the cultural changes can influence in the body transformations, because the taste in beauty usually changes with time and the society values. As plastic surgery is being increasingly sought after, so the interest in studying this theme through an anthropological view came. This study has as a main objective to reflect the cultural changes involved in the evolution of plastic surgery. In order to do that, a review of the literature on concepts of plastic surgery, beauty, health and cultural changes was made.

Aumentar a autoestima e conquistar a beleza são algumas motivações que levam as pessoas a submeterem-se a cirurgias plásticas. No entanto, as mudanças culturais podem influenciar nas transformações corporais, pois os padrões de beleza variam de acordo com a época e a sociedade.
Como as cirurgias plásticas estão sendo cada vez mais procuradas, surgiu um interesse em estudar este tema através de um olhar antropológico. Assim, tem-se como objetivo central fazer uma reflexão sobre as mudanças culturais relacionadas com a evolução das cirurgias plásticas. Para este fim, será feita uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a história das cirurgias plásticas, conceitos de beleza, saúde e mudanças culturais.
