    En este artículo se abordarán los factores que influyen en el seguimiento y/o adherencia a un tratamiento médico prolongado. De entre todos ellos, subrayaremos los factores sociales ya que en ellos tiene especial importancia la figura del/la trabajador/a social de salud. Prestar atención a los factores sociales en el ámbito sanitario es de suma importancia, ya que, en ocasiones, la falta de adherencia viene motivada por la ausencia de abordaje de dichos factores. Así, desde el sistema sanitario puede culparse al/la paciente de su falta de adherencia sin abordar antes aquello que influye en su persona o en su contexto para que esto no suceda.

    This article will tackle the factors that influence in the monitoring and/or adherence to long- term medical treatment. Amongst all of them, we will emphasize the social factors because the health social worker has special importance in them. Pay attention to social factors in the health sector is of primary importance, because, sometimes, non-adherence is motivated by the absence of these factors approach. Therefore, from the health care system may blame the patient for their non-compliance without first addressing what influences on their person or in their context so this does not happen.
