  • The article reports on the prevalence of global piracy in relation to the formation of the Pirate Party, an international political movement which supports direct democracy, transparency, free sharing of information and copyright reform. Topics discussed include the role of the Pirate Party in Iceland's electoral process, use of crowdsourcing through online open-source platforms and the advocacy on liquid democracy. Development of DemocracyOS, an open-source platform, is also mentioned
