    La Unión Europea, aunque inició su andadura con un enfoque claramente económico, ha propiciado la convergencia en distintos ámbitos, que incluyen, entre otros, la educación.

    En diversos países se ha comenzado ya un proceso de reforma de la estructura y organización de sus enseñanzas universitarias para favorecer la construcción de un Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior.

    España ha adoptado una actitud activa en todo el proceso. En este sentido, la LOU pone de manifiesto la importancia de integrar el sistema español en el EEES.

    Tal y como está recogido en el calendario previsto de actuaciones del Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia, en octubre de 2008 comenzarán las nuevas titulaciones de grado.

    Como este Ministerio reconoce, en la integración del sistema universitario español al EEES, resultan decisivas las medidas que deban adoptarse sobre el Sistema Europeo de Créditos, la estructura de las titulaciones, el Suplemento Europeo al Título, el fomento de la movilidad y la garantía de la calidad, por lo que ya se han aprobado varios decretos al respecto.

    Es en este escenario donde queremos analizar el futuro de los estudios de Economía y Empresa.

    The beginnings of the European Union were clearly economic. But it has taken common directions in different fields, for example in education.

    Different countries have begun to reform the structure and organizations o their higher education to favour the construction of a.

    Spain has been active in the process. The LOU (University Law) shows how important is for the Spanish university to be a part of the European Higher Education Area. The calendar of the Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia foresees to begin with the new undergraduate studies in 2008.

    But for the Spanish university system to be part of the European Higher Education Area there several measures that need to be taken about the European Credit System, the structure of the studies, the Diploma Supplement, the promotion of mobility and the quality assurance. And that is why several decrees have been approved.

    This is the scenario where we would like to analyze the future of the Economic and Business studies.
