    Tras la segunda posguerra, el debate de ideas en Latinoamérica fue impregnado por las proyecciones de la guerra fría. Este trabajo analiza la actividad de instituciones y publicaciones que propagaron la recusación de la influencia del comunismo en la vida política y en la producción cultural de la región. Aborda la prédica de la revista Cuadernos, creada en 1953 por el Congreso por la Libertad de la Cultura (CLC), la entidad fundada y financiada por la CIA el 27 de junio de 1950, que emprendió una cruzada cultural contra el desafío bolchevique en Europa y en América Latina. El artículo identifica a los principales mentores del proyecto; describe la crítica a la naturaleza totalitaria de la URSS y el cuestionamiento a los intelectuales filocomunistas; además de señalar las ambigüedades e inconsistencias de su perspectiva liberal para posicionarse frente al militarismo latinoamericano apañado por los EEUU.

    After the Second War, the debate of ideas at Latin American nations was conditioned for the Cold War atmosphere. This work analyses the activities of institutions and publishers that attack the influence of communism over the politic and cultural life of many countries. It approaches to the thought and initiatives of Cuadernos, revue created in 1953 by the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF), the institution founded by the CIA at 27th June of 1950. The purpose of Cuadernos  was display  an anticommunist crusade at European and Latin-American culture. This article identifies the main members of the project; then it describes the Cuadernos’ critic to Russian Totalitarism and to their road intellectuals’ companions. Also, it regards the ethics and politics contradictions of this liberal perspective to explain and justify the Latin American military regimes supported by USA Governments.
