A combination of factors like lithology, relief, climate, and the pressures arising from the presence of human beings since colonial times on the north-east hillslope of the Nevado de Toluca volcano, have produced landforms and processes that are constantly modeling the hillslope’s surface. All these things are associated with a particular problem caused by denudation and accumulation cycles. The geodynamics of the system have been established through a quantitative, morphometric analysis that considers the relationship between the materials, the hereditary forms of the terrain and the dynamic energy present in the northeastern part of the volcano.
