    Se realiza un estudio de bondad de ajuste para obtener la distribución teórica que mejor representa a los valores observados referentes a los tiempos de arribo tanto de huracanes, como de tormentas de invierno. Se presenta la formulación para estimar el valor esperado de los costos asociados a la falla debidos a huracanes en las plataformas de la sonda de Campeche y se realiza un análisis cuantitativo de la influencia de cada uno de los parámetros de dicho factor.

    Recently, optimization techniques are being used for the design of new structures and to determine the program of inspection and repair of structures, where the expected failure cost and the expected cost associated with the operation are calculated. In this process, the costs need to be translated to present value because the value of money change with the time. In this work, the present worth of damage cost is estimated and the parameters that define it are analyzed. In addition, the formulation for the expected value of the present worth of the cumulative damage cost due to all future storms in the life of the offshore structure in the bay of Campeche, Mexico is presented, and a parametric analysis is performed.
