Resumen de Juan Cortázar y sus aportaciones a la Educación Matemática española del siglo XIX

  Las investigaciones en Historia de la Matemática y Educación Matemática analizan los libros de texto más influyentes de la historia de la educación matemática buscando resultados de interés didáctico que nos ayuden a comprender la realidad educativa actual. Durante el siglo XIX, el ingeniero Juan Cortázar se convirtió en el autor de libros de texto y profesor de matemáticas de varias generaciones de alumnos que siguieron transmitiendo su saber hacer cuando se convirtieron en profesores. Juan Cortázar fue uno de los primeros Catedráticos de matemáticas españoles y sus libros de texto fueron aprobados para la enseñanza en secundaria en 1851. Por este motivo presentamos un corto estudio centrado en una semblanza de su vida y un primer acercamiento a su obra. Para ello usamos el método histórico apoyándonos en el análisis de contenido de los libros de texto.

  Research in History of Mathematics and Mathematical Education have analysed the textbooks most influential in the history of mathematics education looking for didactic interest results which help us understand the current educational reality. During the nineteenth century, the engineer Juan Cortázar became the author of textbooks and math teacher of several generations of students who continued to broadcast their expertise when they became teachers. Juan Cortázar was one of the two spanish Professors of mathematics and his textbooks were approved for teaching in secondary schools in 1851. For this reason we present this study that focuses on a short semblance of his life and a first approach to his work. We use the historical method relying on content analysis of textbooks.
