Resumen de Conhecimento dos Direitos Humanos por adolescentes privados de liberdade: um estudo comparativo de duas instituições

  The main objectives of this work are to analyze the common knowledge of Human Rights in a group of juvenile delinquents serving time in two correctional institutions and the influence of psychosocial characteristics of institutions on this matter. 80 teenage boys between 15 and 18 years of age were interviewed in these institutions. Three kinds of knowledge are studied: latent, formal and antithesis. The latent was structured into four types: rights from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – UDHR, generic rights, references about human rights activists and moral obligations. The formal was structured into three types: rights from UDHR, specific rights of teenagers serving time and moral obligations. The antithesis was structured into three types: deprivation of rights from the UDHR, loss of specific rights of teenagers serving time and disregard of moral obligations. The institutions differ in patterns of conflict and violence and in the pedagogical politics. The results show that these differences influence the common knowledge of Human Rights.

  Os objetivos principais desse estudo foram analisar o conhecimento referente aos Direitos Humanos (DH) de adolescentes de duas instituições de privação de liberdade e verificar a influência de características psicossociais dessas instituições sobre esse conhecimento. Foram entrevistados 80 rapazes entre 15 e 18 anos, que cumpriam medida socioeducativa. Os resultados demonstraram que o conhecimento latente acerca dos DH estruturou-se em: direitos da Declaração, direitos formulados genericamente, referências aos militantes de defesa dos DH e deveres morais. O conhecimento formal estruturou-se em: direitos da Declaração, direitos do adolescente privado de liberdade e deveres morais. A antítese dos DH agrupou-se em: privação dos direitos da Declaração, desrespeito aos direitos do adolescente privado de liberdade, desrespeito aos deveres morais. Verificou-se também que as instituições diferiam em relação às experiências de conflito/violência e em relação às medidas pedagógicas, e que essas características influenciavam no conhecimento dos DH.
