Resumen de Precisions sobre les àrees dialectals en el català del nord del País Valencià

Passats trenta anys des de l’aprovació de la llei d’ús i ensenyament del valencià i considerant els canvis socials i culturals de la nostra societat, tenint en compte la inevitable desaparició de les generacions nascudes abans de la guerra civil, decidírem dur a terme una petita enquesta dialectal centrada en els pobles que van conformar el castell o setena de les Coves de Vinromà. Set pobles i d’altres situats al sud en els límits del Maestrat històric, amb la finalitat de comprovar la vitalitat del lèxic en les diferents formes i variants fonètiques, delimitar i precisar-‐‑ ne l’abast territorial i extraure conclusions relacionades amb dominis senyorials medievals, repoblació o amb àrees geogràfiques i centres d’influència.

There was a long time ago, more exactly thirty years, since the Law for the Use and Teaching of Valencian was passed. From then on, our society has experienced a series of social and cultural changes, the most important of all of them is the unavoidable disappearance of the generations born before the Civil War. Taking all these considerations into account, a brief dialectal poll about Catalan has been engaged to: 1) check the lexical vitality in the different forms and phonetic variants, 2) pin down its scope through the territory, and 3) draw conclusions related with noble dominions in the Middle Ages, resettlement, geographical areas, and areas of influence. The study analyses not only the Catalan language used in the seven villages located in the southern Maestrat, or what is the same, the villages which historically made up La Setena de les Coves, but also that of the other closest villages.
