Resumen de La Modificació del mapa de representacions lingüístiques de principi de segle a La Veu de Catalunya

Durant el primer terç del segle XX va tenir lloc una important reedificació de la llengua catalana. Vinculats al procés de construcció d'una identitat nacional, en què la llengua tenia un paper fonamental, la reflexió i el discurs lingüístic adquiriren un protagonisme creixent, gràcies en bona part a un espai de nova creació: la premsa de masses.
El treball que segueix a continuació pretén estudiar la campanya per la llengua catalana, endegada per polítics i intel·lectuals aplegats al voltant de la figura d'Enric Prat de la Riba, a les pàgines de La Veu de Catalunya, per tal d'analitzar les ideologies lingüístiques que s'hi vehicularen així com la incidència del discurs públic en la creació d'un nou mapa de representacions lingüístiques, que va marcar una fita ineludible en la història social de la llengua catalana contemporània.

A significant rebuilding of the Catalan language took place in the early decades of the 20th century. Associated with the process of building a national identity in which the Catalan language held a fundamental role, reflection and linguistic discourse acquired increasing importance largely owing to a newly created space: the mass print media.
This paper studies the campaign to promote the Catalan language that was launched in the newspaper La Veu de Catalunya by politicians and intellectuals supporting the positions of Enric Prat de la Riba. On the basis of this study, an analysis is made of the linguistic ideologies conveyed by that publication, and of the influence of public discourse on the creation of a new map of linguistic representations marking a major milestone in the social history of contemporary Catalan.
