  • The Institution of Structural Engineers’ Kenneth Severn Award is an annual essay competition for young engineers under the age of 28 in which the question is set by the President. In his essay, 2015 winner Eamonn Keane sets out six ways in which he believes the education of structural engineers could be improved to develop their creativity and problem-solving ability.
