    El presente artículo estudia las diferencias claves existentes entre la traducción jurídica, jurada y judicial, afirmando que estas no se deben solo a las características lingüísticas del texto, sino también al formato y contexto en el que se reproduzca y a su valor legal. Con este fin, se examinarán las características y tipologías del texto jurídico, los orígenes del Derecho, los distintos ordenamientos jurídicos, la regulación de la traducción jurada en España y en el extranjero y la necesidad de una mayor valoración de la traducción judicial que proteja realmente los derechos de los ciudadanos ante la justicia.

    This paper studies the key differences between legal, sworn and court translation, stating that they do not only cover the linguistic characteristics of the text, but also its format, context and legal value. For that purpose, the characteristics and typologies of the legal text will be examined, together with the origins of Law, the different legal systems, the regulation of sworn translation in Spain and abroad and the need of further appreciation of court translation, truly protecting the citizens’ rights in court.
