Finance partner David Eich featured in The Lawyer magazine's Hot 100 at a pivotal time for Kirkland & Ellis, when the firm enlisted him to lead a local expansion effort in Hong Kong.
"There was a lot of discussion at that time about how that investment would endure over time," Eich says. "It was a fantastic experience both personally and professionally. The lesson learned was about how the modern law firm works. It's not about one or even a couple of guys or gals leading those things, it is massively about the team. Often a team of younger and ambitious people will take things to the next level. That's what happened in Asia."
