  • Resumen
    • Dental caries and wear are important conditions to record in archaeological collections, as they can provide invaluable information regarding a culture and its people. The aim of this investigation was to determine the frequency and distribution of dental caries and dental wear in a medieval Byzantine pediatric population in Yenikapi, Constantinople, lstanbul. The research was carried out on the skeletal remains of one infant and 28 children with a total of of 180 teeth. Based on the findings of low dental wear and low dental caries, there is reason to characterize the site as a fishing community.
