  • Resumen
    • Chemical demonstrations reinforce important chemical concepts and can motivate students as they learn chemistry. They are especially effective when students can participate. Most of the demos we use rely on the senses of sight, hearing, or touch. This article presents a very simple experiment involving the sense of smell that students can accomplish during lecture. This classroom exercise involves very little preparation time and can be used to illustrate the important concepts of equilibrium along with acid/base properties of various ions.
