    En aquest article estudiem la presència de Pere Joan Perpinyà SJ (Elx 1530 - París 1566) en l’Arxiu Històric de la Universitat Pontifícia Gregoriana de Roma, on el jesuïta elxà va passar uns quants anys com a professor de retòrica. Estudiem i presentem els manuscrits, la majoria inèdits, que sota la seua autoria es conserven i que ens ofereixen una valuosa informació per a redimensionar la seua fi gura dins de la Companyia de Jesús i com a professor de retòrica. En aquest sentit, hem intentat analitzar la seua obra a fi de presentar-ne un esquema prou clar per a conéixer-la i estudiar la infl uència d’aquesta en el desenvolupament de la SJ.

    In this paper we study the presence of Pedro Juan Perpiñán SJ (Elx 1530 - Paris 1566) in the Historical Archive of the Pontifi cal Gregorian University in Rome, where this Elx Jesuit spent several years as a professor of rhetoric.

    We offer this edition of the manuscripts, most of them unpublished, that are preserved under his authorship and which offer us valuable information to reassessl his role inside the Society of Jesus as professor of rhetoric. To this end, we have tried to analyze his work so as to present a clear outline of his infl uence in the development of the Jesuits.
