  • Resumen
    • The thermodynamics related to the evaporation of a liquid into a vacuum is developed in a simple manner. Two questions which arose during correspondence on this controversy are also considered. These questions concern the indifferent states of systems associated with the choice of what thermodynamic function to use for a given problem and a discussion of reversibility, irreversibility, and spontaneity. Results are given for three relevant changes of state using explicit values.
