    En el presente artículo se ha examinado el tratamiento de la gramática en las últimas décadas. A partir del Marco común europeo de referencia para las lenguas y el Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes, la fragmentación y la polémica de la etapa anterior ceden y dan paso a una situación mucho más estable. Así, hoy día es difícil que alguien dude de que es necesaria la instrucción gramatical en el aula de ELE, aunque, eso sí, subordinada a los objetivos comunicativos, de modo que lo que hay ahora es más que gramática, gramática pragmatizada. Signo igualmente de estos tiempos actuales es la base cognitivista de la gramática que se enseña. Tal perspectiva no solo responde a la especulación surgida a partir de intuiciones o el sentido común, sino también a investigaciones cada vez más importantes sobre la adquisición/aprendizaje de la LE.

    This paper has examined the treatment of grammar in recent decades. From the common european framework for languages and the Curricular Plan of Instituto Cervantes, the fragmentation and controversy of the previous phase yield and give way to a much more stable situation. So, today hardly anyone doubts that grammatical instruction in foreign language classroom is necessary, but still goes subordinate to the communicative goals, so that there is now something more than grammar, the pragmatistic grammar. Other sign of these current times is the cognitive basis of grammar which is taught. Such a perspective not only responds to the speculation arising from intuition or common sense, but also to the increasingly important research of the acquisition/learning of foreign language.
