    Some aspects related to the description of Teucrium valentinum Schreb. [sect. Polium (Mill.) Schreb., Labiatae] and its taxonomic value in the systematic of the genus are discussed. A new nomenclature combination and status for this plant are proposed Teucrium capitatum subsp. valentinun (Schreb.) P. Ferrer, E. Laguna, R. Roselló, Gómez Nav., A. Guillén & J.B. Peris, comb. & stat. nov.
