Se estudió la incidencia de la distancia entre líneas (20, 40 o 60 cm) y de la fecha de recolección (dejando para semilla el segundo o el tercer corte) en la producción de semilla de la alfalfa cv Aragón en Zaragoza, durante 2007-2011. Las producciones anuales obtenidas no mostraron diferencias significativas en función de la fecha de recolección, siendo de 443 y 415 kg ha-1 cuando se dejó el segundo y el tercer corte respectivamente, o de la distancia entre líneas con 418,418 y 451 kg ha-1, obtenidos para distancias entre líneas de 20, 40 y 60 cm respectivamente, aunque la variabilidad interanual fue alta, de 29 kg a 914 kg ha-1. Además de la cosecha de semilla se realizaron tres cortes para forraje, sobresaliendo la producción de materia seca, 7627 kg ha-1, cuando se dejó el tercer corte para semilla. La producción forrajera fue asimismo superior cuando la distancia entre líneas fue de 20 cm, 7486 kg ha-1, respecto de las distancias de 40 y 60 cm, con 7189 y 6661 kg ha-1 respectivamente.

The effect of row spacing (20, 40 or 60 cm) and harvesting date (leaving forseed production the second or the third harvest of the year) on seed production of alfalfa c vAragón was studied in Zaragoza during 2007-2011.Results showed neither significant differences according to the harvest date (443 and 415 kg ha-1 respectively when the second and the third harvests were left), nor according to 20, 40, and 60 cm row spacing, 418, 418 and 451 kg ha-1 respectively although interannualvariability was high, 29 kg to 914 kg ha -1.
