    La interpretación integrada de imágenes aéreas de pastizales puede proporcionar modelos generales del territorio en forma de sistemas de transferencia de materia (sistemas vectoriales) que pueden facilitar la predecibilidad y la capacidad de extrapolación de los tipos de pastizal.

    Using different types of remote sensing two different áreas of rangeland were surveyed and described in terms of local systems of matter and energy transfer. The two áreas were:

    — The "Cabeza Aguda" área in Sierra Morena, (Córdoba).

    — The "El Congosto" área in Guadarrama Range (Madrid).

    The Sierra Morena área may be described as a mosaic of vectorial-equipotential systems with different sectors: Denudation/export, transit, accumulation (passive balance). 2 nd cycle of headward erosión, alluvium, etc.

    In the Guadarrama área the block-fracture patterns of granite dominate the matter flux and residence time (water, cations). Different zones characterized by different levéis of moisture, oxydation and catión accumulation were considered.

    Indicator plants for every zone obtained by sampling and data processing.

    General landscape models are useful for rangeland surveys from pictures as they promote both predictibility and rational summarization by disclosing recurrent patterns.
