Comparación de especies de Medicago, respecto a las variables edáficas y topográficas, en los pastizales situados entre el Tajo y el Jarama

    Hemos estudiado la variación de 21 caracteres ecológicos —topográficos y edáficos— en cuatro especies: Medicago lupulina, M. sativa, M. rigidula y M. minima, que son las más frecuentes en los pastizales entre los ríos Tajo y Jarama. Las diferencias entre especies las estudiamos mediante el test de F de igualdad de varíanzas y el test de la t de Student de comparación de medias. Dentro de las comparaciones posibles, se encontraron valores de F significativos (varíanzas desiguales) en 10 variables, entre las que podemos destacar: fósforo asimilable y calcio del primero y segundo extractos. Con respecto al test de la t de Student, los valores significativos se dieron en 7 variables, entre las que se destacan la altitud, el fósforo asimilable y el potasio del primer extracto. Medicago lupulina es la única especie que presenta diferencias significativas, en cuanto a las medias, con respecto a las otras tres.     We have studied the variarion of 21 ecological characters —topographic and edaphic— in four species: Medicago lupulina, M. sativa, M. ngidula and M. mínima; these species are the most frequent, of the genus Medicago, found in the pastutes between the rivers Tagus and Jarama.

    The differences berween the species were studied by means of the F test of equality of variances, and of Student's t test of comparison of two sample means.

    Within the possible compansons, we found significant F valúes (unequal variances) for 10 variables, among which we find: available phosphorous, and calcium of the first and second extractions.

    With respect to Student's t test, significant valúes were found for 7 variables, the most important of which are altitude, available phosphorous and potassium of the first extraction.

    M. lupulina is the only specie that presents significantly different means with respect to the other three species.

    The comparison berween M. mínima and M. ngidula is the only one that does not give any significant valué for cithet test, F and t.
