Las sucesivas sociedades agrícolas que habitaron en el territorio central de Castilla y León al norte del Duero, en la primitiva Región Vaccea desde tiempos prehistóricos, se han caracterizado por producir el mejor trigo y el mejor pan, las mejores legumbres y el mejor cordero del territorio español. Por ello, se especializaron en su transformación culinaria, crearon las sopas de ajo, la olla podrida, el cocido de garbanzos y el cordero asado.
The successive agricultural societies who inhabited the central territory of Castilla y León north of the river Duero, in the primitive Vacceo region from prehistoric times have typically produced the best wheat and the best bread, the best legumes and the best lamb of the whole territory of Spain. For this reason they specialized in their culinary preparation creating garlic soup, 'olla podrida' (a kind of pork and bean stew), chickpea stew and roast lamb.
