La visión reformista sobre la mujer y el divorcio en la obra de un dramaturgo de éxito en el primer tercio del siglo XX: el diputado conservador Manuel Linares-Rivas Astray

    A finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, coincidiendo con el debate regeneracionista, afloró en España un reducido grupo de pensadores que cuestionaron la situación de inferioridad social y jurídica de la mujer. Numerosos países europeos y americanos reformaron en aquella época sus legislaciones en materia matrimonial, sancionando el divorcio y mitigando la marginación femenina regulada en sus leyes. Mediante este trabajo, se aspira a analizar cómo uno de esos intelectuales, el dramaturgo, abogado y diputado conservador Manuel Linares-Rivas Astray, con un discurso reformista, expuso en sus obras la necesidad de aprobar el divorcio vincular para aminorar la infelicidad de los matrimonios mal avenidos, descubriendo la opresión femenina y la abusiva regulación y aplicación del derecho de familia

    In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, coinciding with the regenerationism movement, it emerged in Spain a small group of thinkers who questioned the woman status of social and legal inferiority women. Many European and American countries reformed their laws in matrimonial matters at that time, punishing divorce and mitigating the female marginalization governed by its laws. Through this work, the aim is to analyze how one of those intellectuals, the playwright, lawyer and conservative deputy Manuel Linares-Rivas Astray, with a reformist discourse, presented in his works the need to adopt absolute divorce, in order to decrease the unhappiness of ill-assorted marriages, thus showing women´s oppression, and the abusive regulation and enforcement of Family Law
