  • Resumen
    • I use a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet gradebook to record and calculate student grades for each of my chemistry students. In designing the gradebook, I found that the functions in Excel allowed me to easily average grades, calculate a running percentage of possible points for each student, drop the minimum grade from a list of quizzes or other grades, and assign a letter grade for trhe course. However, there is no built-in function in Excel Version 4.0 that would allow me to drop the lowest two quiz grades out of seven. This article reports a simple method for dropping the lowest two of seven grades using an Excel spreadsheet gradebook.
