The Internet resource called the "Web" or "WWW" and some of the advantages it provides to chemists and educators, relative to older Internet technology, is described. Information on obtaining, installing, and using Web browsers and Web viewers is included. Chemical MIME objects, which are 3-dimensional representations of molecular structures, are used as examples of a type of resource available on the Web that is of special interest to chemists. A list of addresses on the Internet sites is provided where further information about the software described in the article can be obtained.
