En este trabajo se estudian los dos mayorazgos del señorío de Monroy.
Del inicial, fundado a principios del siglo XIV, exponemos una síntesis de lo publicado hasta la fecha y algunos datos documentales nuevos. Del segundo y definitivo, instituido por Fernando de Monroy El Bezudo a finales del siglo XV y prácticamente inédito, se examina el texto completo de su fundación que contiene detalles significativos sobre distintos aspectos jurídicos e institucionales del mayorazgo y sobre el personaje: sus circunstancias familiares, mentalidad y patrimonio. Analizamos también los conflictos entre los miembros de la familia por la herencia y la sucesión, destacando los poco conocidos del siglo XVI y especialmente el último, del siglo XVII, cuyo voluminoso pleito es una fuente documental de gran importancia para el conocimiento de la historia de este linaje.

In this paper the two entailed estates of the Monroy Manor Estate are examined. The initial, founded at the beginning of the 14th century provides an updated summary of everything published about it, along with some new documentary details. Regarding the second, final and almost unknown, which was established by Fernando de Monroy El Bezudo at the end of the 15th century, there is examined the complete text of its foundation, which supplies significant details concerning different legal and institutional aspects about the entailed estate and the heir: family, mentality and heritage. The conflicts related to heritage and succession among the members of the family are also analysed, and this paper points out the hardly-known conflicts in the 16th century and specially those in the 17th century, whose enormous lawsuit represents a very important source of documents to better know the history of this lineage.
