    Esta investigación e intervención psicopedagógica se inicia en el curso 2010-2011 en dos colegios de Badajoz: C.P. San Fernando y CP Santo Tomás, y se incluye en un estudio transfronterizo entre la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Extremadura (España) y la Escuela Superior de Educación del Instituto Politécnico de Castelobranco (Portugal). En el proyecto e intervención educativa tratamos de mejorar la competencia emocional en alumnos de 4º de Educación Primaria, tomando una muestra de 100 alumnos, siendo la mitad del grupo experimental y la otra mitad del grupo de control. El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en desarrollar, implementar, analizar y comparar los resultados del Programa de Inteligencia Emocional en alumnos de Educación Primaria Españoles y Portugueses, estudiando en su caso, el impacto que tiene en el desarrollo de las Competencias Básicas Lingüística y Matemática, así como de otros factores, para enriquecer los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje en ambos sistemas educativos y su desarrollo en los centros.

    Se desarrollan también algunas sesiones con padres y profesores con el objetivo de que conozcan la intervención educativa que se va a desarrollar con sus hijos y alumnos respectivamente y hacerles reflexionar para la mejora de sus pautas educativas.

    Los resultados observados hasta el momento, contribuyen a demostrar la relación existente entre la Inteligencia emocional y la mejora del clima social en la clase y de todos los implicados en los procesos de enseñanza – aprendizaje.

    This investigation and intervention psycho-pedagogical began in the 2010-2011 academic year in two public schools in Badajoz: the first one is “San Fernando Public School” and the second one is “Santo Tomás Public School”, and it is included in a border study between the Education Faculty of the University of Extremadura (Spain) and the Education High School of the Technical College of Castelo Branco (Portugal). In the Project and educational intervention we try to improve the emotional competence of students in the 4th year of Primary Education, taking a sample of 100 students, the first half are in the experimental group and the second one are in the control group. The aim of this study is to develop, implement, analyze and compare the results of the Emotional Intelligence Program in Spanish and Portuguese primary schools students, studying the impact that it has on the development of the Linguistic, Basic and Mathematical skills, and other factors to enrich the teaching and learning process in both Educational Systems and its development in schools.

    Some sessions are also developed with parents and teachers to make them know the goal of educational intervention that it will develop with their children and students respectively and also to make them think about the improvement of their educational standards.

    The results obtained so far, contribute to show the relationship between the Emotional Intelligence and the improvement of the social atmosphere in class and all those people involved in teaching and learning process.
