The use of spreadsheets in the undergraduate classroom can be a powerful learning tool to do a large number of repetitive calculations in a short period of time. Spreadsheets also provide flexibility in editing the way calculations are preformed. A recent article in this Journal clearly demonstrates the use of spreadsheets to calculate a protein’s pI. This letter to the editor shows one more function of the spreadsheet to make the calculation more powerful, while not detracting from the flexibility of the spreadsheet.
