    La Entrevista Motivacional, con más de 30 años, de 25000 artículos publicados y de 200 ensayos clínicos aleatorios que han mostrado su eficacia (Miller y Rollnick, 2013) ofrece una herramienta desde el respeto y la confianza en las capacidades de las personas para facilitar y aumentar la motivación para el cambio. En mediación, las personas en conflicto, sobrepasadas por sus emociones de ensimismamiento, confrontación, angustia y cerrazón, necesitan del profesional para superar tales estados emocionales y salir así del conflicto en el que están inmersas. La Entrevista Motivacional, como se muestra en este artículo, aporta estrategias concretas de intervención para ayudar a los mediados a superar estancamientos y reencontrar el camino de salida del atrincheramiento y la confrontación hacia la colaboración, con el fin de que puedan resolver entre ellos su conflicto, con plenas capacidades.

    Motivational Interviewing, started more than 30 years ago, with over 25,000 articles published on the subject and more than 200 randomized clinical trials conducted that have shown their efficiency (Miller & Rollnick, 2013), provides us with a tool based on the respect and trust in the people to facilitate and increase motivation to change. When in a mediation process, people in a conflict are overwhelmed by their emotions of self-absorption, confrontation, anguish and closeness, and they need a professional to overcome these emotional states and be out of the conflict they are immersed in. Motivational Interviewing, as shown in this article, offers concrete strategies to act and help those in a mediation to overcome stagnations and find a way out of the entrenchment and confrontation position to collaboration, and resolve their conflict together using their abilities to the fullest.
