  • Using examples from everyday life helps instructors maintain student interest when teaching or reviewing unit conversions. This article describes two such examples: one involving the value of the speed of light quoted in a Monty Python song and the other using the desired maximum level of blood cholesterol quoted by the health authorities in two different countries.
