Resumen de A Redox Titration for a General−Organic−Biochemistry (GOB) Course Using Povidone Iodine

Allan R. Pinhas

  • Redox reactions and titrations are an important part of most general chemistry courses. A simplified redox titration that nursing students and other allied health students taking a general−organic−biochemistry (GOB) course find relevant has been developed. Povidone iodine, also known as betadine, is the form of iodine that is used often as an antiseptic agent. This communication discusses an experiment in which the percentage of iodine in povidone iodine is determined by titration with sodium thiosulfate.
