  • Resumen
    • The use of nitrogen fertilizer on oats crops silage made at early stages of plant groth increases Total nitrogen (TN) and Soluble-N (SOL-N) showing that proteolysis takes place in the silage aditives such as formic acid (5 L/t) reduces this negative effects on the nitrogenous components of herbage. This experiment was carried out at Balcarce Experimental Station (INTA) in Argentina, where oat fertilized with 4 doses of nitrogen in the form of urea: 0, 50, 100 and 150 kgN.ha, where ensiled on 3 dates: (D1): 25/9, (D2): 9/10, (D3): 17/10. A factorial experimental design was applied combining fertilizer, date of ensiling and formic acid addition. The results showed a double TN (%) interaction (P
