  • Resumen
    • To determine the apparent digestibility, of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) in the ileum of six cultivars, harvested at 150 days. An experiment was run where twenty-one castrated male ileo-rectomized pigs weighing 35 kg were distributed among treatments design in randomized blocks with three repetitions The experimental adaptation period and preparation for surgery, lasted eight days, seven days for recovery and diet adaptation and 2 days for the sampling of the ileal digesta. The treatments were: 1: Basic diet (BD) and: 2 to 7: 75 % of BD plus 25 % root flour of the corresponding cultivar. The digestibility of the dry matter and organic matter was high and similar (P>.05) among cultivares. Difference were observed (P
