Fátima Urdaneta, María E. Peña, Gustavo Arteaga, Ángel Casanova

  • In order to analize the operative costs and incomes composition and its relation to the management level in cattle double purpose systems at Rosario and Machiques Municipalities of Perija, Zulia State, Venezuela, 87 farms were studied by a proportional stratified randomized method, using inquest, visits and records revision (1995) as a data collecting method. Management levels (ML) were stablished previously, depending on the relationship of five factors (farmes potencialities, planning, change adaptation, human resource administration and control) it was calculated cost and income composition by each ML. Results show that operative cost increase as ML does, due to the most thecnology use and human resource incentive, allthough the cost ratio on gross value production decreases. That indicates a mayor efficiency and productivity of ML3. Total income by farm increase as ML does, showing a diversity of incomes to ML2 and ML3.
