Heifers and adult cows with patent gastrointestinal nematode and liver fluke infections were treated with Ricobendazole, a benzimidazole compound. Treated animals at dosage of 3.75 and 7.5 mg/bw showed a sharp decrease in egg fecal counts two days after treatment (nematode infections) and ten days after treatment (liver fluke infections). Egg output decreasing values were 100 % for nematode infections and 92.63 % for Fasciola hepatica infections. Subcutaneous injection showed no undesirable effects on treated animals.
