Resumen de The Doctrine of "Direct effect": an infant disease of Community Law

Pierre Pescatore

  • This is no doubt a topic of great importance for both legal practice and legal theory. But I am wondering whether those who chose to invite me have not been mistaken because I must confess, though it is not the best taste to quote oneself, that I have written recently that the discussion on direct effect has been a sort of "infant disease" of Community law. This should not scare anyone. Infant diseases are happily in most of the cases mild diseases and they have one advantage: once one has gone through them they leave immunity for a lifetime.
