Students and educators can easily create interactive Web pages containing live 3-D molecules using the “Export to Web” function recently added to the open-source Java application Jmol. Additional text and pictures can be added to these pages using standard Web editors. This submission contains examples and a tutorial introducing both the visualization capabilities of Jmol and how to make Web pages using the “export to Web” function. The tutorial is appropriate for use by instructors developing Web-based materials and for class assignments requiring production of Web pages containing 3-D molecular information (shapes, orbitals, etc.).
