• The article informs that Decree 1019 of 2014 has been enacted by the Colombian Ministry of Finance to alleviate registration burdens in the Colombian alternative equity and fixed income market to facilitate access of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Topics discussed include impact of the economic reform on SMEs, simplification of offering procedures through the Alternative Market and role of amendments in bringing the bnation closer to international standards.
