Tejiendo voces: jóvenes universitarios opinan sobre la apropiación de internet en la vida académica

    En este artículo, las autoras reportan algunos de losresultados de una investigación más amplia titulada“Tecnologías de información en la comunidad académicade la unam: acceso, uso y apropiación”. El objetivode ésta fue realizar un diagnóstico sobre las prácticascotidianas de la comunidad académica de la unamacerca del acceso, uso y apropiación de las tecnologíasde la información y la comunicación, tic, en materiaeducativa. Los resultados indican que existen diferenciastanto por área como por el semestre que cursa elalumno, ya que mientras para los estudiantes de lasáreas biológicas y de la salud; físico-matemáticas y delas ingenierías, las tic son recursos fundamentales enlas actividades académicas y la vida en general, paralos estudiantes de Ciencias Sociales son instrumentosde socialización. Por su parte, los de Humanidades yArtes las perciben como herramientas secundarias en elámbito académico y de socialización. El conocimientoacerca de los recursos ofrecidos por la unam aumentaen la medida en que los estudiantes cursan semestresmás avanzados, no sólo por una información natural,producto de la convivencia universitaria cotidiana, sinopor la necesidad de realizar su trabajo de titulación.

    In this article, the authors report some of the resultsof a wider investigation titled “Technologies of Informationin the Academic Community of unam: access,use and adaptation”. The object of this was to realizea diagnosis on the daily practices of the academiccommunity in unam on access, use and adaptation ofthe information and communication technologies, tic,in education material. The results indicate that thereare differences in areas as well as in the semester thatthe student courses, since while for the students ofbiological areas and health and physics-mathematicsand engineering, the tic are fundamental resourcesthe academic activities and life in general, for thestudents of Social Sciences these are instruments ofsocialization. Humanities and Arts, on the other hand,consider them as secondary tools in the academicsphere and of socialization. The knowledge on theresources offered by the unam increases to the degreein which the students take more advanced semestersnot only thru a natural information, product of theirdaily university coexistence, but also for the need torealize their thesis for their degree.
