Resumen de Mi experiencia acerca del trabajo y la función del psicoanalista

El autor cree que el objetivo del proceso analítico consiste en recuperar el sentido de muchas conductas o fenómenos mentales que se han vuelto incomprensibles para el enfermo y para los demás. La interpretación implica la reintegración del significado perdido (inconsciente) de los síntomas, recuerdos, lapsus, sueños y transferencias a la vida mental del paciente, a su comunidad psíquica. Por esto la primera función del psicoanalista es interpretar, devolver este significado perdido mediante la interpretación.
El autor piensa que el psicoanalista debe cumplir durante el proceso otra función además de la de interpretar. Esta segunda función del psicoanalista consiste en mantener el setting. El setting -con el psicoanálisis y el psicoanalista en su interior- sería la única realidad exterior a la que ambos miembros de la pareja terapéutica tienen acceso, la única que pueda ser ca-observada por ambos y que serviría de contraste a la realidad psíquica más o menos omnipotente de la transferencia y de la contratransferencia.
De esta manera, la realidad psíquica podría poco a poco ser modificada por la experiencia del contacto con la realidad externa del psicoanálisis y el psicoanalista en tanto que constituye un objeto externo-real-bueno para su paciente.

The author believes that the aim of the analytic process consists in recovering the meaning of many behaviours or mental phenomena that have become incomprehensible to the patient and to those around him. Through interpretation, the lost (unconscious) meaning of the symptoms, memories, slips, dreams and transferences are reintegrated into the mental life of the patient, and into his psychic community. For this reason the psychoanalyst's primary function is to interpret, to restare this lost meaning by means of interpretation.
The author is of the opinion that, during the analytic process, the psychoanalyst is called upon to fulfil another function, over and above that of interpretation. This second function of the psychoanalyst consists in maintaining the setting. The setting -with psychoanalysis and the psychoanalyst within it- would then be the only externa! reality accessible to both members of the therapeutic dyad, the only reality ca-observable by both, serving as a contrast to the more or less omnipotent psychic reality of transference and countertransference.
In this way a gradual modification of the psychic reality may take place through the experience of contact with the externa! reality of psychoanalysis and the psychoanalyst, in so far as he constitutes an externalreal- good object for his patient.

L'auteur pense que l'objectif du processus analytique consiste en la récupération du sens de nombreuses conduites ou évenements psychiques qui sont devenus incompréhensibles pour le malade et pour les autres.
L'interprétation implique la réintégration du sens perdu (inconscient) des symptomes, souvenirs, lapsus, reves et transferts a la vie mentale du patient, a sa communauté psychique. Pour ces raisons la premiere fonction du psychanalyste est d'interpréter, de rendre le sens perdu a travers l'interprétation. L'auteur penseque le psychanalyste doit remplir pendant le processus une autre fonction en plus de celle d'interpréter. Cette secande fonction de l'analyste consiste a maintenir le cadre. Le cadre -avec la psychanalyse et le psychanalyste a l'intérieur- serait la seule réalité extérieure a laquelle les deux membres du couple analytique auraient acces, la seule qui peut-etre co-observée par tous les deux et qui servirait de contraste a la réalité psychique plus ou moins toute-puissante du transfert et du contre-transfert.
De cette fac;on la réalité psychique pourrait peu a peu etre modifiée par l'expérience du contact avec la réalité externe de la psychanalyse et du psychanalyste en tant que constituant un objet externe-réel-bon pour son patient.
