Resumen de Notas sobre las posibilidades defensivas poliorcéticas en Hispania durante la conquista romana

Con el presente trabajo se pretende realizar un acercamiento a las principales máquinas de asedio y tipos de opugnación mostrados en la Hispania romano-republicana. Cobra especial interés dentro de esta temática el estudiar los sistemas defensivos peninsulares y su capacidad mayor o menor para repeler ataques contra núcleos urbanos. Con el estudio de las fortifi caciones se procura ver en qué medida las innovaciones poliorcéticas del mediterráneo central, traídas por griegos y púnicos, pudieron calar en el mundo hispano. Como demostración de táctica de asedio y despliegue importante de maquinaria, se ha elegido el Cerco de Escipión alrededor de Numancia, un claro ejemplo de longinqua oppugnatio.

In this present article is pretended to do an introduction to the main siege engines and to the types of attacks to cities shown in the Hispania of the Roman Republic. It develops special interest within this thematic the studying of the Iberian Peninsula�s defensive systems and his better or not ability to repel attacks against urban centers. With the study of fortifications is tried to prove in which method the poliorcetic innovations of the central mediterranean zone, brought by greeks and punics, could affect in the hispanic world. Demonstrating the siege tactics and the important deployment of machinery, it has been chosen the Scipio�s Siege around Numantia, a clear example of longiqua oppugnatio.
