  • The article reflects of the proposed directive of the European Commission on alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) in 2009 aimed at ensuring high level of investor protection and provide robust and harmonised standards within its scope to enhance transparency. It states that Cyprus has enacted the law in 2013 under the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission. It notes that the country's law regulates the establishment and operation of AIFMs who manage any investments.
