  • A response to the article "Obama's Libya Debacle" by Alan Kuperman in the March/April 2015 issue is presented. Topics include a discussion of the threat Libyian leader Muammar al-Qaddafi posed to the Libyan people; the decision by the U.S., Russia, and Arab League to support a humanitarian intervention and the scope of the resulting military campaign; and a discussion of whether Qaddafi's son Saif al-Qaddafi posed a viable alternative to his father; and a discussion of the failure of post-conflict peacekeeping efforts and assistance programs.
