  • The article discusses the provisions of the Volcker Rule and its implications for securities trading and investments in fund-type vehicles. Topics covered are the trading activities excluded from the definition of proprietary trading, the conditions for a a banking entity to be allowed to engage in a permitted trading activity, the exemption of foreign banking entities from proprietary trading prohibition, and the exemptions from the definitions of an investment company and covered fund.
