  • The article outlines five steps to good corporate governance, as discussed by Sir David Walker, chairman of financial services company Barclays, at a seminar at the London Stock Exchange in England held in May 2014. The mechanisms recommended are the need for the corporate board to have the correct balance of skills, knowledge and experience, readiness of the board to act, talent development and succession planning, remuneration structure of senior executives, and board evaluation.
