  • The article presents an update on developments in shadow banking as of June 2014. It reports the appeal of a senior Canadian securities regulator for global supervisors to protect market-based finance from regulation. Opinions from industry experts on the regulatory response to shadow banking are presented. Also reported is the setting up of asset management companies by the Chinese government to reduce risk in the banking system in the country.
